2024. Over and Out.
Well we've managed to do it, get to the end of 2024. And what a year it's been.
For the Jamhot crew it's been an excellent 12 months. Packed full of creative adventures, some of which we could never have imagined as the year kicked off in January.
We've won new clients, travelled around quite a bit, created a few films and designed many many things on our journey to create & transform an exciting and inspiring range of brands.
Here's some of our favourite highlights...
ISLAND ADVENTURES
This year saw us embarking on some more design based island adventures. We kicked off January with a visit to the Isle of Lewis to kick off a brand project with Stornoway Gin which launched later in the year. It was a great trip and we've enjoyed getting to work with David & Karen to bring their distillery dream to life. Following that trip, we were off to the Isle of Islay to kick off a whisky design project for our friends at Islay Mist - and we were then back on the island in the summer to create a brand film. It was an incredible experience getting to spend some time on Scotland's whisky island, and we hope we'll be back in the new year for more.
ON THE FARM
Kicking off a new brand project for Highland Grain, we spent a fair bit of time visiting farms & farmers throughout Inverness and the Black Isle. It was something very new for us, and a total privilidge to get to spend some time in their company leaning about the important role of malting barley for Scotland's whisky industry, and the year round process and the effort involved from ground to grain to glass. We're looking forward to launching the work to the world in the new year.
TRON AND ON
The year saw us celebrate the arrival of a new artistic director for Glasgow's Tron Theatre, Jemima Levick, with the launch of a new look for her first full season at the helm. It was a highlight of the year for us, as the threatre is the client we have worked with the longest - 16 years in fact! So a huge thanks goes out to Jemima for putting her trust in us, and to our friends Lindsay & Danielle, the very best arts marketing duo in the world - they sell shit out!
BERLINKYS
This year we got to do something a little different for us, launch a brand new bar, club & entertainment destination in the heart of Glasgow's city centre - creating a new brand & visual style for Berlinkys. The opening night was a brilliant, and it's been great to see the venue packed since its launch.
BRINGING GLASGOW TO LIFE
A big project for us this year has been working on a brand refresh for Glasgow Life, the cultural organisation that operates all of Glasgow's incredible collection of museums, sports venues, libraries, community centres and concert halls. We'll be sharing some of the work at the start of next year and we can't wait.
JAMHOT VOTED IN TOP 25 DESIGN STUDIOS BY CREATIVE BOOM
The year ended in a happy fashion when Jamhot were voted in the top 25 agencies worldwide by readers of Creative Boom. We've no idea what drove folk to vote for us, but we're happy and grateful that they did.
GAB GAB GAB
2024 saw us host three Gab events in three different locations - our personal favourite being a return visit to the world's oldest surviving music hall - The Britannia Panopticon. We're looking forward to kicking off the event series again at the start of '25 at St. Lukes in Glasgow. Praise be!
GOING INTERNATIONAL
We couldn't think of a better way to round off the year than by taking part in the INTL creative & design festival that rolled into town. Getting to meet so many energetic & enthusiastic creative folk was a treat, and it was a privilidge to get to act as event hosts for the mega conference at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. An experience that we will never forget.
YEAR 17
As we finish up for the year today, it's actually the 17th birthday of the studio - we didn't officially start until January 2008, but The 19th December 2007 was the date when we set up Jam Hot Ideas Limited (our full fancy name) by registering on companies house. It's been an incredible 17 years, and we can't wait to see what's in store for us next year.
THANK YOU
A massive thanks to everyone that we have collaborated with this year. All of the amazing clients who have put their trust in Jamhot, it means the world to us. And as always, we couldn't do what we do without the help of our friends and collaborators - Donald, Lauren, Dave, Barry, Ross & Gabrielle, Joe & Mark, Reuben, Susan, Graeme. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Right, it's time to turn off and tune out. We're off for a festive pint.
