Creative Diary. September 25.

Hello there. The end of September approaches, prompting us to get one of these wee Creative Diary posts done. And luckily there’s been a lot going on to write about in the world of Jamhot.

We kicked off the month with a joyous celebration for our 40th Gab event, with a packed house at Barras Art and Design treated to talks from from London creative agency Studio Blup (we loved the pure energy from Dines), animation geniuses Animade and a great talk from recent design graduates Orla, Columba and Lucy - with the evening expertly hosted by Lisa Henderson.

A highlight of the night was seeing half of the audience flee when our final act appeared, Glasgow cult band Hugh Reed and the Velvet Underpants, leaving the special people who stayed marked out as good folk and true believers. We love you all (and Hugh too).

Special thanks has to go out to our friend Katy Cowan from Creative Boom who joined us to cover the event for the magazine, producing a great video blog and article.

Aside from our event adventures, it’s been a month of welcoming some new clients into the studio.

We’ve started working with the iconic Scottish brand Calmac, the West Coast ferry company serving Scotland’s islands. It’s a brand we have always fancied working with and so it is a total treat to have them in the studio as we kick off some brand & campaign projects that will be launched next year. We've already been out and about to several island locations and look forward to visiting more over the coming months.

We also kicked off a project with Onesurvey, a name that will be familiar to most folk who have purchased a house in Scotland, as well as with an amazing re-wilding organisation called Nattergal.

As well as all the happy events, we’ve sadly been saying goodbye to our friend Lindsay who leaves Tron Theatre after 15 years. It’s been an absolute honour & pleasure to get to work with her for so long and while we’ll miss her as a client - we’ll always have her as our friend.

After starting the month with a Gab event, we ended the month in a cheery fashion with a visit to Jot, a great writing event run by our pals at Need.

So, with the month drawing to a close what does October have in store for the Jamhot crew.

We have a Wee Gab event planned where we’ll invite 20 folk out to a special location for a talk. We also have our first speaker confirmed for Gab 42 in Jan, so we just need to finalise the venue (hopefully we’ll be visiting a new place and space) and then we’ll get the tickets out and about towards the end of next month.

There been a fair bit of new business activity on the go, so we're hoping to end the year with a few new clients. Fingers crossed. And in the background, work continues on the new Jamhot website, happy days.

We've got two new brand projects launching to the world over the coming month, the result of a lot of creative work - it will be great to see them out and about in the world.

And last but definitely not least, we've kicked off some mentoring activity for Glasgow Caledonian University and Edinburgh College of Art, something that we always enjoy doing a lot.

That’s about it for now… we’ll be back with more ramblings for you to read at the end of next month.
