Feb '26. Creative Diary.

Hello there. We meant to write one of these little creative diary posts at the start of the month, but to be honest we totally forgot. Never mind, today we remembered and thought it was worth a little update as to what's been going on in the studio.

We've been busy working with our friends at CalMac ferries on a couple of creative & brand projects. It's been dream to get to collaborate with such a well known Scottish brand and we're looking forward to some nice work being launched to the world later this spring.

In the meantime, one of the first jobs out of the studio was a new identity to help CalMac celebrate their 175th year in operation. The work involved some script writing, creative direction and also the production of one of the biggest pieces of print work to leave the Jamhot studio - a 12m long banner that was unfurled from the side of one of the ferries to mark the launch of this special year.

There will be a lot more to come from our CalMac collaborations fairly soon.

Our creative & design project with UK Sport continues, and it's been nice getting to work on this while we watch the amazing action from the winter olympics unfold.

We've also been doing some more work with our friends at Glasgow Life, as they look to implement the new brand system that we created throughout the organisation. It's always a pleasure getting to work for organisations that do so much good, so we're delighted to be working with the team here again.

We have a nice new whisky design project in the studio at the moment, and we'll be getting to collaborate with our photographer friend Susan Castillo on this one which we are delighted about.

A couple of video production projects have just landed in the studio, so we're busy planning in some work on those and look forward to getting out and about over March & April to bring these productions to life.

Last week saw us kick off a new coffee design project for the team over at Matthew Algie. Based in Glasgow way back in 1864, they have grown to be one of the world's leading coffee roasters. So it's a total pleasure for us to get to collaborate with this mightly Glasgow brand.

Alongside the studio work, we were out and about last week giving a talk to marketing students at The University of Strathclyde, something that we always enjoy. We're also currently doing some mentoring work with Glasgow Caledonian University and Edinburgh College of Art, and it's always a pleasure to get to meet so many talented emerging designers.

The new business train has been rolling on, and it's been a busy start to the year in that regard with proposals flying out the studio door over the last two weeks. Hopefully its a sign of a very good year to come.

We're almost nine months into working from our new studio space at The Hatrack in Glasgow city centre, and it's fair to say we're all loving it. It's a privilege to get to work from such an amazing creative space every day, and it's something we don't take for granted. It's been nice to welcome a fair few friends, designers and creative folk up to the studio over the last month for a coffee and a chat, with the studio proving to be a very collaborative space just as we hoped it would be. With all of the visits there's been quite a lot of pastries and doughnuts consumed, meaning we could all probably be doing with getting to this gym... which is just as well we've just kicked off a new project with Glasgow Club, the sports & gyms arm of Glasgow Life. Let's see if it encourages us to get more active!

Ok, that's about it for now. Hopefully we'll get it together enough to write a little studio update again at the end of March.

Cheers, Jamhot x
