Gab at St Luke's. Praise Be.
This week saw us host the first Gab creative & design event of the year. It was our biggest event to date with almost 300 folk packing out St Luke's in Glasgow for an evening of chat, creative confessions, hopes & dreams for the year ahead.
It was such a positive event, with our speakers bringing a lot of good energy to kick off the year.
Photographer Eoin Carey gave a very funny talk for an entertaining start to the night, we were then treated to Chloe aka The Chatty Freelancer offering some of her own creative confessions and thoughts on design. The one and only Mr Bingo ended the first half with a fast tempo, high octane run through his career as an artist before offering some very interesting thoughts on what he learned from taking a year off from work. Ophelia & Yexabel from Unknown Errors gave a personal talk about their experiences in design and in creating a new community.
The event was rounded off with a memorable talk from artist Rob Lowe, aka Supermundane, with a nice mix of serious & fun points about dealing with change in the world and within the creative industries - with a very funny song and dance at the end.
A huge thanks to all of the speakers for giving their time and energy, we appreciate it a lot. Thanks also to everyone who came along, it was great to get to chat to so many folk following the event. St Luke's was an amazing venue and the team there made us all feel very welcome.
We'll be back in action on Wed 26th March at Barras Art & Design, tickets for the event will be out at the end of the month.
