Serving 2. The Mick Cooke Lunch Club Society.

The Mick Cooke Lunch Club Society sat down for serving number two this afternoon.

Come to think of it, perhaps this was the first ever official event - after the lunch that inspired it last week with THE ACTUAL Mick Cooke. But this is not a time to get tangled up with such mundane details, for today we were treated to a visit to the new Jamhot studio in The Hatrack by our good friends Lindsay & Danielle from Tron Theatre.

We've worked with the Tron team for 17 years now, so it's only right and proper that they were the first to take the lunch series on and see if we could do Mick proud.

So down to the details. What lunch was had...

On the menu today Lindsay & Danielle both enjoyed some delicious home made sandwiches which looked very nice indeed. Graeme had a tasty sandwich from Piece (in homage to Mick who brought one up last week) and Jamie who is attempting a fitness kick had a pretty grim (in comparison) bottle of Huel.

To accompany the lunch, a couple of bowls of little treats were laid on by Jamhot. In bowl 1 we had some ridge cut ready salted crisps (of the quality variety) and in bowl 2 some jelly sweets (randoms I think). The juice of the day was 7 up, which feels like a rather rare juice. It wasn't too popular with our guests, but the Jamhot crew tanned a couple of cans. Tea, coffee and water was of course provided.

Craig sent his apologies as he was sadly unable to make it. The group appreciated this and noted that his presence was missed.

The lively converastion included topics such as theatre productions, the Trongate title party, the new owners of Glasgow’s Thornwood Bar, a mistrust of lifts and the mysterious Australian mushroom poisoner. But all of this seems insignificant when compared to the thoughtful gift that our friends brought to accompany the lunch - fresh homemade brownies baked by Lindsay. They were incredible.

It was a treat of a lunch, and so good to see both Lindsay and Danielle. It's fair to say that The Mick Cooke Lunch Club Society is now in full swing.

We do have to apologise though, that The Mick Cooke Lunch Club Society badges (which will probably actually be stickers) were not available to hand to our guests as we had promised. Mainly because we forgot about them. Next time...

Who will our next guests be?

All will become clear when the right time comes. Until then, we're off for some more brownies, and a can of 7 up.
